MACRO UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY

WORKSHOP

Macro photography is about taking close up pictures of anything you fill your frame with at 1:1 or 1:2. Equipment wise it can be as cheap as going into your cameras menu and switching it to macro to thousands of dollars of elaborate equipment. Either way it's a wonderful way to capture some spectacular images of our tiniest of critters underwater or amazing abstracts. Most people, dive and will pass over these critters and never see them as they swim and explore the reef. It can also be one of the most forgiving ways to shoot pictures when you are starting out in underwater photography. Because at a basic level, once you have dialed in your settings its almost point and shoot and in nearly all cases you will capture a great shot.

If you just have a simple point & shoot camera, or you just upgraded to a new SLR system and have your first macro lens or your an advanced diver who has been shooting underwater for sometime and wants to learn advanced lighting, or new tricks.
