Thailand
In March of 2016 Melissa and I embarked on a 1 month journey around Thailand. Our journey covered 2,300 miles by Car, Bus, Rail and Boat and Elephant. During this adventure we saw the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, ate at some amazing restaurants, and stayed at a beautiful Boutique hotel that was in its hey day a private mansion. Leaving Bangkok, we visited the Tiger Temple in Kanchanaburi, Hellfire Pass and stayed at the amazing Dheva Mantra Resort. We then headed south via rail to Phuket. We chose this method to allow us a better experience seeing the countryside and the local people. we spent 6 nights on the island of Phuket, doing free diving, shopping and getting pampered. We then headed north to the seaside town of Khao Lak. Where we signed into "Wicked Diving" for our 3 day live aboard dive trip to the Similan Islands, see video below. It was a great trip and one worth doing if your ever in the area.Upon our return to Khao Lak we caught the overnight 1st class train to Bangkok. Not quite the first class I expected but at the very least if was a private very cramped cabin. From Bangkok we headed down to Pattaya Beach renowned for its bars and night life to meet up with my father. The following 5 days spent with family down near Trat and on the island of Koh Chang where I got to take my sister for an elephant ride through the forest and down into the ocean. From Koh Chang we slowly made our way back to Bangkok for a couple of nights before flying home. 29 days spent in Thailand was an awesome experience and one trip I will do again in March 2017.
